Italy is a place that captures my imagination every time I visit—its colours, textures, and atmosphere stay with me long after I’ve returned home. For this piece, I was inspired by the sun-drenched charm of Sicily and the Amalfi Coast: winding streets lined with colourful buildings, lemon trees spilling over walls, and glimmering turquoise water in the distance.
I wanted to capture not just the look of the place, but the feeling of it—warmth on your skin, the scent of citrus in the air, and the peaceful rhythm of coastal life. Yellow and turquoise are two colours I come back to again and again—they feel so joyful and energising!
My hope is that this painting brings a little of that sun-soaked bliss into your space, and maybe even stirs memories of holidays, slow afternoons, and the simple beauty of being by the sea.
