Learn to paint in a relaxed, creative environment

Upcoming Workshops

Homes & Gardens Watercolour Workshop, 11 Jul 2026
£35.00

Saturday 11 July 2026, 2-4pm | The Waverley, Chippenham SN15 3HG

Take a break from the everyday and enjoy painting cosy homes and beautiful gardens in watercolour. In this relaxed, therapeutic workshop, you’ll have the freedom to paint a scene that combines buildings and nature — whether that’s a charming house, a garden view, or a favourite place where the two meet.

You might choose to paint cottages, townhouses, or garden buildings alongside flowers, leafy borders, winding paths, fences, pots, benches, and sun-dappled trees. Whether it’s your own home or garden, a place you love to visit, or a scene from your imagination, you’ll be gently guided to create a painting that captures the mood and character of that space.

We’ll explore easy, approachable watercolour techniques for buildings, foliage, flowers, and textures, with supportive guidance on composition, colour, and capturing light. You’re welcome to work in a loose, expressive way or take a more detailed approach — this workshop is about finding what feels right for you.

This session is beginner-friendly and low-pressure, designed to encourage enjoyment and experimentation rather than technical perfection. By the end of the workshop, you’ll have created your own watercolour painting to frame, gift, or keep as a personal memento, along with an Introduction to Watercolour booklet to help you continue painting at home.

We’ll have exclusive use of The Waverley’s spacious main upstairs room, and a complimentary drink of your choice is included in your ticket.

All materials are provided (or feel free to bring your own favourites). No prior experience is needed — just curiosity, a love of homes and gardens, and a willingness to have a go!

Autumn Colours: Capturing the Beauty of Trees, 17 Oct 2026
£35.00

Saturday 17 October 2026, 2-4pm | The Waverley, Chippenham SN15 3HG

Celebrate the rich colours and changing moods of autumn in this relaxed, creative watercolour workshop. You’ll explore the shapes, textures, and tones of trees in their autumn glory, learning how to capture their beauty in a painting that feels expressive and full of atmosphere.

We’ll cover approachable watercolour techniques for painting foliage, trunks, branches, and light, with guidance on colour mixing and simple composition to help your trees feel alive on the page. Whether you’re drawn to fiery reds and golds, soft earthy tones, or misty autumn scenes, you’ll be encouraged to paint in a way that suits your own style – loose and expressive or more detailed.

This session is beginner-friendly, designed for enjoyment and experimentation rather than technical perfection (though if improving skill is your goal, I can of course support you with this!). You can choose to paint a single tree, a group of trees, or an autumn woodland scene, and I’ll be there to offer as much or as little guidance as you’d like.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll have your own autumn tree painting to frame, gift, or keep as a seasonal memento, along with an Introduction to Watercolour booklet to help you continue exploring watercolour at home.

We’ll have exclusive use of The Waverley’s spacious main upstairs room, and a complimentary drink of your choice is included in your ticket.

All materials are provided (or you’re welcome to bring your own), and no prior drawing experience is needed – just curiosity, cosy autumn vibes, and a willingness to experiment.

£35.00

Saturday 19 September 2026, 2-4pm | The Waverley, Chippenham SN15 3HG

Capture the spirit of a place in a small, expressive watercolour painting.

In this relaxed and creative workshop, you’ll turn travel memories, favourite locations, or imagined destinations into postcard-sized artworks full of colour and atmosphere. You’ll learn approachable watercolour techniques for painting landscapes, buildings, and everyday scenes, with guidance on composition, colour, and how to suggest detail simply and confidently.

You’ll be encouraged to interpret your scene in your own way—whether that’s loose and sketchy, expressive and atmospheric, or a little more detailed.

This workshop is suitable for beginners and those with some experience. Whether you’re inspired by holidays, city breaks, or places closer to home, you’ll leave with your painted postcard, an Introduction to Watercolour booklet, and the skills to continue capturing places you love in watercolour.

Most participants will complete at least one finished postcard during the workshop, ready to frame, send, gift, or keep as a personal souvenir.

We’ll have exclusive use of The Waverley’s spacious main upstairs room, and a complimentary drink of your choice is included in your ticket.

All materials are provided (or feel free to bring your own). No prior drawing experience is required – just curiosity, a love for travel, and a willingness to experiment.
