About

A bit about me and my creative journey

I’m Kelly, a watercolour artist based in Wiltshire, specialising in detailed, bespoke illustrations of places and spaces that mean something to you – from buildings, homes and gardens, to grand wedding venues.

I began painting with watercolours a few years ago as a hobby, and it quickly became something I absolutely loved. What started as quiet time with a paintbrush soon grew into something more, and in September 2024 I created an Instagram account to share my work. Not long after, I was asked if I’d be open to my first commission – a house portrait – and I realised just how much I enjoyed creating artwork for other people, knowing it would be treasured for years to come.

Since then, things have grown in ways I never imagined. In 2025 I held my first exhibition, began regularly selling my work at local craft markets around North Wiltshire, and worked on over 50 commissions. While illustrations of places, buildings, homes and gardens remain at the heart of what I do, I also love painting pet portraits, landscapes and other meaningful subjects.

In 2025 I also worked on several wall art projects for local businesses, collaborating closely to create hand-painted visuals that reflect their spaces and stories. I love how varied my work has become, and how each project brings something a little different to the table.

I also run an Etsy shop where you can find select pieces and order bespoke illustrated greeting cards for all occasions, which have become another special part of my work.

When I first started painting, I had no idea what my ‘style’ was. Looking back now, I’m surprised by how much it has evolved. What’s stayed consistent is my love of the small things – tiny details, fine lines and careful brushstrokes – and a preference for quality over size.

I often reach for my tiniest 0.03mm fine liner and narrowest brushes to capture the details that make a place unique. From the texture of old bricks to the shape of a garden path or the softness of flowers in bloom, there’s so much beauty to be found when we slow down and really look.

Alongside my art, I’m also a yoga teacher through my other business, Space to Balance, and mindfulness naturally weaves its way into how I paint. I find a lot of peace in paying close attention to my subject and recreating it in my own way, especially when it holds personal meaning for someone else.

It’s important to me that you love the result, so I approach every commission with the commitment to getting it just right for you, so that it feels personal and extra special.

Over the past year, I’ve felt increasingly drawn to sharing the joy that watercolour painting brings me. I now run monthly watercolour workshops in Chippenham, open to all levels and exploring a wide range of themes. My workshops are relaxed, friendly and designed to help you enjoy the process of painting just as much as the finished piece.

What began as a hobby has gradually grown into my little art business and an ongoing creative journey that I continue to adore. I’m incredibly grateful for the support along the way, and I hope my work – whether through a painting, a card, a workshop or a collaboration – brings you or someone close to you a bit of joy.

If you have any questions about commissions, workshops or anything else, please feel free to get in touch anytime.

Thank you so much for being here!
