Bespoke Wall Illustration for Sweet Pea Beauty
Bringing a small business brand to life on their studio wall — my first wall art project, full of colour, care, and creativity
Early 2025, I had the opportunity to create my very first wall illustration for the lovely Becky at Sweet Pea Beauty, and I loved every minute of it! Although I’d previously only done commissioned work on paper, Becky trusted me to bring her logo and brand to life on her studio wall. It was a completely new challenge for me, and one I approached with care and attention to detail.
The Process
To start, I carefully measured the wall and marked the centre, ensuring the painting and vinyl lettering would be perfectly positioned. I sketched out the floral design in pencil, then began painting. While I brought a whole set of brushes, I ended up using just one, which allowed me to blend the shades more naturally and maintain a consistent style throughout.
The vinyl lettering was slightly nerve-racking. I had never applied vinyl to a wall before, so I watched a few tutorial videos to get it right. Peeling off the backing tape was tense, but thankfully it worked perfectly and the final result looked amazing!
The Result
This project was not only enjoyable but also incredibly rewarding. It was freeing to try something completely new, learn through experience, and create a piece that was meaningful for a small business run by someone so passionate and dedicated. Becky truly cares about her clients, and I wanted the artwork to reflect that same level of care and pride.
I’m so grateful to Becky for trusting me with this project. Seeing her reaction and knowing her clients enjoy the artwork made it all the more special!
