Saturday 8 August 2026, 2-4pm | Griffin Growers, Lacock
Join me for a relaxed afternoon of sketching and watercolour painting at Griffin Growers, a community garden near Lacock where fruit, vegetables, flowers and herbs are grown using natural and sustainable methods.
Inspired by the colours, shapes and textures of August, we’ll explore the gardens and capture the beauty of the season through sketching and watercolour techniques.
Whether you’re drawn to flowers, foliage, garden details or wider views, I’ll guide you through my approach to painting directly from observation, sharing tips on composition, colour mixing and simplifying scenes.
We’ll begin with a short demonstration before creating our own paintings in response to this beautiful setting. Suitable for beginners and those with some watercolour experience, this workshop is designed to build confidence, develop observational skills and encourage a relaxed approach to painting outdoors.
All materials are provided, along with refreshments. Please wear weather-appropriate clothing and comfortable shoes, and bring a water bottle. You’re also welcome to bring a small cushion, sit mat or folding stool/chair for comfort if desired (not essential). We’ll have access to a covered shelter space at Griffin Growers should the weather require it.
Come and enjoy a creative summer afternoon surrounded by nature, with plenty of inspiration, guidance and time to paint!
Address: Griffin Growers, Griffin Estate, Bowden Hill, Chippenham SN15 2PP
